The final Mo Down

That’s it, Movember is over and normal month naming has resumed - December is still December and not Becember (for beard growth).

THANKS

The BeebMo Team just want to say a big thanks to everyone that helped raised money or donate money to the cause.

As it stands, Movember raised about £9 million around the world and £4000 in Jersey alone.

Over 170,000 people registered to grow a Mo during the past month around the world and approaching 200 here in Jersey.

The money raised by Movember will be used to fund high quality research into the causes, treatment and impact of prostate cancer and to provide support and information to men and their families.

The boys… (Tim, Ryan and Dan) raised about £350… so again thanks.

Dan’s Mo was shaved off in a pretty public way - in the middle of the Sure mobile shop in Kings Street along with the Sure Mo Growing employees.

Watch his e experience here:

Two weeks in for Ryan

Ryan has also taken a new photo - this one just over two weeks into the growing process. As you can see (in reference to previous post) there is the start of a couple of Bars growing down the side.

Two weeks of Mo

Although the direction is a bit odd.

Tim’s tash after 12 days

Bit of a delay in posting this one - been a bit busy. Tim has finally handed over a photo of his moustache - after twelve days growth.

Hang in there Tim - I’m sure by the end of the month you’ll have a lovely thick Mo.

Tim's Tash after 12 Days

It’s growing time

Back at work today. But going on holiday’s Saturday for a couple weeks…. time to grow… I will be back 20 somethingth of Nove… looking forward to the updates… go Tim.. you can grow… and fear not I have a mate back in Australia that can’t grow a mo either… he needs MOyear…. go Choppy!

See ya later Uncle Chop Chop

Not Going So Well For Tim

So, my first update of the month, and I’ll admit things aren’t going too well so far.

I’m back in Jersey after a week in Bristol, where I’ve been carefully grooming my excuse for a moustache. To be honest, Matt Lucas has more hair on his head than I have on my upper lip.

There were plenty of taunts and jibes before the month started, mainly from people at work questioning whether I’d even gone through puberty yet! I have… honest…

But I’m ploughing on in the name of charity, pledging £50 if I manage to last until the end of the month.

Photo to follow shortly, but you’ll have to look closely.

Growing out the bars

Right now my moustache looks like something that belongs on the top lip of a slightly weird and skinny 15 year old school boy who’s trying to show he’s ‘ard by growing a moustache.

Fortunately I’m no longer a 15 year old school boy and my Mo will grow bigger and thicker over the next few days. But so far I’ve been avoiding letting the bars grow.

Especially after Dan’s has turned out looking so um… Village People.

But after a request from one of the people that donated to my Mo, Philip Regan, (Jersey Raindog - thanks man!) I’m going to let the bars grow out.

He commented on the Flickr photo: “I donated money for this? Unless I see handlebars I want it back… ;)”

Well Phil - Bars coming your way over the next few days (hopefully).

My Mo fund is now up to £25 thanks to Phil and one Aunty and another Uncle - many more family members to ask yet though (cheers Mum).

See what happens when you donate (to any of us) you get to dictate the terms and style of our Mo’s.

Kiwi’s growing a mighty Mo

More sharing of the Mo funnies. No explanation possible - just watch it.

The Mo Growth

Well we’ve all been growing our Mo’s for over a week now so we thought it was probably time to share them with you all.

Lets start with Dan - he’s gone for the whole gay trucker thing:

And Ryan who seems to be sporting a man boy Mo:

And finally Tim - we haven’t got a picture of Tim yet but we’ll catch him when he comes into the office later.

Sharing the Mo goodness

Here is a video from YouTube of a Tom Selleck Moustache competition from Rekjavik (don’t know, don’t ask - but it is funny as).

It’s not just us

It isn’t just the three BBC boys growing moustaches for charity - there are hundreds of people RIGHT HERE IN JERSEY doing exactly the same thing and thousands more around the world.

Don’t believe us? Well the 187 registered MoGrowers in Jersey have so far raised close to £1000 for The Prostate Cancer Charity - people from schools, offices and more.

Still don’t believe me? Well here is a map to prove it:

If you’re growing a Mo in Jersey leave your name in the comments, where you’re working and we’ll pay tribute to our MoBros.
